During times of uncertainty and crisis, people come together to support one another. COVID-19 is a new test of our collective strength. As millions are on lockdown and more businesses are closing, unemployment is spiking. Feeding the kids, making rent payments and keeping the lights on is difficult for many during this crisis.
Glenhouse Strategies’ COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund supports communities by helping our community relations team respond, and by ensuring people get accurate information. Our team is fielding more calls than normal, primarily for food, financial assistance and housing. We expect numerous calls for assistance over the next six months than we would usually receive over the course of a full year. We are in an unprecedented environment as community services are strained and unable to meet demand.
Glenhouse has always been focused on the underlying social problems, especially now that those problems are magnified. When shuttered schools mean children from low-income families may not be eating enough healthy meals, Glenhouse is here to help. When food pantries are overwhelmed, partially because people who used to donate are now in need of food, Glenhouse is stepping up. And when people who’ve lost hours or jobs need help getting by, Glenhouse connects them to available local resources.
Please be aware that financial assistance related to COVID-19 is not available for individuals everywhere.
